Klisura is a village in West Bulgaria. It is located in Samokov municipality, Sofia region

In Bulgaria there are another three settlements that carry the same name. They are located in Karlovo municipality, Plovdiv region, in Sofia municipality, Sofia region and in Blagoevgrad municipality, Blagoevgrad region. 

The village of Klisura is 17 km west of Samokov, 23 km east of Dupnitsa, 12 km east of Sapareva banya and 82 km south of Sofia.

Regular and convenient bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.

It falls in the Klisura col and its altitude is 1100 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter and warm summer. The fall is warmer than the spring. 

Here are functioning community center, town hall, pub and shop. The nearest schools and kindergarten are in Sapareva banya where you can also find medical assistance. 

The village is situated between Rila and Verila mountains where the nature is unique and the air is fresh. Here passes the popular mountain route through the four mountains Vitosha, Rila, Verila and Pirin. 

The situated in proximity town of Sapareva banya as well as Panichishte are becoming mountain resorts for their fast growing opportunities for mountain, ski, religious and SPA tourism. The town is famous for its healing mineral water. At its center springs natural geyser which is the only geothermal spring on the Balcan peninsula.

There are many churches, chapels and monasteries that should be seen in Sapareva banya municipality. Some of them are the church "St George" from the XVIII c., "St Nickola" from the XII-XIII c. and the monasteries "St Archangel Michail" and "St Stefan". 

In the area are located five landmarks from the list of 100 national tourist sights - the Historical museum in Samokov, the Maiden monastery "Pokrov Bogorodichen", "Skakavitsa" cottage, the Seven lakes in Rila mountain and Musala peak
