Kasak is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Dospat Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is approximately 7 km southeast from the town of Dospat, nearly 72 km northwest from the town of Smolyan, 15 km southwest from the village of Borino and in the same direction 38 km from the town of Devin and 203 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
Bus connects it to other cities.

Located in a mountainous area at an altitude of 1338 m. Winter is mild, spring comes late, the autumn is warm and summer is cool.

The permanent population is about 850 people. Residents are occupied primarily with farming. In the village operates a shoe factory.

There is a town hall, community center, elementary school, restaurants and shops. The village has a doctor and a dentist. The nearest secondary school and hospital are located in the town of Dospat.

LANDMARKS

Dospat dam is located about 8 km away. The dam is the highest in Bulgaria and it is with beautiful panoramic views. dam is rich in fish and great opportunities for sport and recreational fishing.

30 km east of the village is situated the impressive Trigrad Gorge. On both sides of the river cliffs forming the gorge. The natural attractions of Trigrad Gorge have been declared protected area. In the area "Chairite" there are six sloping lakes and in the rocks of the Trigrad Gorge can be seen over 10 species of rare birds.

Precipice cave "Devil's Throat" /31 km/ it assembles a devils head. Here the water descends in a cave and forms a 42-meter waterfall. After about 500 meters down the river, the water reappears in the form of a karst spring. And the cave is open for visits.

Yagodinska cave / 28 km / is one of the one hundred national tourist sites. With its 10,500 meters is the third longest in Bulgaria and the longest in the Rhodope Mountain.

Natural landmark "Elephant" / 33 km / is a striking rock formation assembling an elephant. Rock graduated with a hard stone pillar-like trunk of an elephant.
