Kamenitsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Mirkovo municipality, Sofia region.

In Bulgaria there are two settlements with the same name Kamenitsa quarter, Plovdiv town and the village of Kamenitsa, Strumyani municipality, Blagoevgrad region.

It is 19 km southwest of the town of Mirkovo and 59 km southeast of the capital Sofia. The village of Petrich is 8 km east, the village of Baylovo is 15 km northwest while the village of Smolsko is 14 km north.

It is situated in mountain region and its altitude is between 670 and 890 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized with late spring, cool summer, warm and mild fall and short spring.

The village is considerably well maintained with asphalted main streets and lightning. The are constructed water and electricity systems, the mobile operators have coverage.

The permanent population is about 93 people.

Bus transportation connects it to the neighboring settlements.

Here are functioning town hall, store and coffee shop. GPs are working in the village Mirkovo where are the nearest school and kindergarten. Specialized medical assistance you can get on the territory of the capital.

The village is adjacent to the Ihtiman Sredna gora and the hunting ground Aramliets where there are very good conditions for practicing of this hobby, there is catch deer, roe, wild-boar, bear and wolf.

Near it flows Kamenishka river that is feeder of Topolnitsa river. The local people enjoy walking on its banks.

Near the neighboring village of Smolsko there is dam with the same name where you go fishing. The pond is stocked with carp, grass carp, silver carp, trout etc. The night fishing is also permitted.
