Kaloyanovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria, administrative center on Municipality Kaloyanovo, District of Plovdiv.

There is one more settlement in Bulgaria with the name Kaloyanovo, located in Municipality Sliven, District of Sliven.

It stands about 26 km north of the town of Plovdiv, about 19 km of the town of Hisarya, about 30 km south of the town of Banya and about 156 km south-east of the capital of Sofia.

Newly constructed road links Kaloyanovo with Hisarya. There is regular bus and railway transportation from and toPlovdiv. European route 80 is about 25 km away from the village.

The relief of Kaloyanovo is flat, with average altitude of 198 m.
The village climate is continental, with mild winters and warm summers. The skirts of Sredna gora prevent sudden changes of temperatures through the seasons.

The population of the village is about 2 621 residents.

The infrastructure of Kaloyanovo is excellently settled with asphalted and lighted streets, sewerage and water supply systems, electrification, Internet, cable TV and telephones.

The residents of Kaloyanovo dispose of town house, catholic and orthodox churches, post office, primary school, community center, kindergarten, shops, pharmacies, banks and restaurants.

The medical needs of the population are served by GP and dentists. The closest hospital is in the town of Hisarya. The closest high schools are in Plovdiv.

Attractions

The region of Kaloyanovo enters into the earliest state organization of Thrace-Odrysian kingdom, founded in V century BC by King Teres I (480-440).
The remains of the city center, where the kings’ palace was built, today are found in the vicinity of Kaloyanovo.

There are a few dams suitable for fishing and tourism not far from the village. Duvanlii is about 3.5 km north-west; Chernozem Reservoir is about 5 km north and Sinyata reka Reservoir about 13 km north-west.

In the outskirts of Kaloyanovo is “Dragon” raising track. Every year two rounds of the National Touring Car Championship are held there , as well as numerous branded fairs, shows and regular tuning motorcycle and automotive training days and amateur championships.
