Kaleytsa village is located in the municipality of Troyan, Lovech region.
It is set 4 km south of Troyan and 28 km from Lovech, 4 km north-west of Oreshak, 68 km west of Gabrovo and about 140 km north-east of Sofia.
The village is situated at the foot of the Balkan mountain, on about 380 m altitude. In Kaleytsa passes Komanska river, a tributary of the river Osam.
The climate is characterized by cold winters and warm summers with high precipitation in spring and autumn.
The population numbers about 630 people.
Kaleytsa comprises with shops, pubs, community center, church, built in 1859 and a regular transport to the town of Troyan. The main livelihood of the local population is farming and fruit growing.
A hut is located about 4 km away from the village - it offers accommodation and relaxation.
In Kaleytsa was born the prominent Bulgarian poet Lalyu Ponchev Marinov, better known as Lamar. His house is now a museum.
In Kaleytsa is a monument in memory of the dead guerrillas.
About 2 km west of the village is situated the waterfall Skoka / Jump/ on Lopushnitsa river. The height of the drop is about 8 m.
