Hotnitsa is a village in northern Bulgaria, in Veliko Tarnovo municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.

LOCATION

The village is situated about 15 km from Veliko Tarnovo, 16 km from Gorna Oryahovitsa, 30 km away from Polski Trambesh and 220 km from Sofia.

ATTRACTIONS

Hotishki waterfall is located in the village, which is one of the largest waterfalls in Bulgaria. The place is an attraction for Bulgarian and foreign tourists and is a wonderful place to relax, walk or picnic. Next to the waterfall there is a restaurant offering traditional cuisine and wonderful views.

Recently it is a tendency English citizens to settle in the village, like maybe their number now exceeds that of natives.

There are also еcopath near waterfalls, which allows tourists to enjoy the waterfall up close.

Only about 20 km away are situated the canyon and the village of Emmen, which was declared a landmark. Emen eco path passes on both sides of the canyon leading to another scenic spot - Waterfall Momin skok. There is also Emen cave, which is 3113 meters long

In the village of Hotnitsa were found more than 70 settlements inhabited in different periods - from the early Paleolithic to the late Middle Ages.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The village has a community center - "Svetlina", a town hall, a supermarket and a restaurant.

Transport links are good because of the proximity to Veliko Tarnovo.

The main roads F-772 (Sofia - Varna) and F-85 (Romania - Bulgaria - Greece) are located 5 km from the village.

Hotnitsa is located only 6 km from the village in the municipality - Samovodene. There are functioning school, kindergarten, community center, church, shops, health center with a general practitioner and dentist, railway station.
