Village of Gozdevitsa

Gozdevitsa is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan municipality, Smolyan region.
Located in the western part of the Rhodope Mountains, near the border with Greece, 37 km southwest of the town of Smolyan, in the same direction at 54 km from the resort Pamporovo and 284 km southeast from Sofia. Gozdevitsa falls in the land of the village of Arda / 3 km northwest /.
The village is located at an altitude of 1276 meters. The climate is characterized by cool and wet summer and autumn is long and warm.
The permanent population is about 10 people.
In Gozdevitsa there is a shop. In the village of Arda operate two community centers, primary school, kindergarten and town hall. There you will find a doctor, nurse and dentist. The nearest medical facilities are in the town of Smolyan.

The most famous landmark in the vicinity are Agushevi konatsi in the village of Mogilitsa / 7 km north / - big feudal castle (town hall) built in 1834.
Near the village in the area Sinite Virove is located Uhlovitsa cave. It is one of the one hundred tourist sites. It is about 460 meters, 330 of which are urbanized. At the end of the cave is icy white waterfall. In the cave you can find corallites.
In Smolyan village guests can visit: Smolyan History Museum - the oldest and largest in the Rhodope Mountains, Smolyan Planetarium, Rhodope Drama Theatre, "St. Vissarion", Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice, Rozhen Observatory.
