Gorno Botevo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Stara Zagora Municipality, Stara Zagora region.
It is 18 km southeast from the city of Stara Zagora, 22 km southwest from the town of Nova Zagora and 247 km southeast from the capital city Sofia.
There is a regular bus transport to the district town of Stara Zagora.
Gorno Botevo is situated in the Stara Zagora field at 137 m above sea level. The permanent population is about 900 inhabitants.
The climate is transitional continental with Mediterranean influence. Summer is hot and dry and winter is mild with slight snowfall.
The village has a town hall, a church "St. Dimitar", community center, elementary school and grassed stadium. There is cable TV and cover of all mobile operators.
For the health of the residents two doctors take care. The nearest hospital is located in Stara Zagora.
In Gorno Botevo there is a factory for rubber seals equipped with high-performance equipment from Italy and France.
The village has a rich history, as it is seen from the numerous remained to this day historical monuments:
- Monument to the fallen in battle in the village during the Russion-Turkish War
- Monument to the fallen of the village in the Balkan Wars and World War
Except for a cultural tourism Gorno Botevo is suitable for rural and eco tourism. Through the village passes river Dalboshkata and Oryahovska River which allow guests to enjoy fishing combined with a vacation among the nature.
