Gorna Dikanya is a village in Western Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Radomir municipality, District Pernik.

It is 22 km southeast of the town of Radomir, about 33 km in the same direction from the town of Pernik, and almost 45 km southwest of Sofia.

Its population is about 200 inhabitants.

Located in West part of Sredna Gora mountain at the foot of Verila moumtain at the foot of Mount Debelets, at an altitude of about 912 m.
The climate is continental. Its character is defined by the relatively high altitude. Late spring, cool summer, warm autumn and long winter.

The village is with developed infrastructure, with town hall, three churches, community center and school, PBX, Internet access, cable TV and cover all mobile operators. Here is one of two in Bulgaria SOS - Children's Villages. Health care residents a general practitioner and a pharmacy. The nearest hospital is located in the town of Radomir.

Tourism and landmarks

DolnaDikanya Dam is located next to the village and offers excellent conditions forfishing.
Late medieval church of Virgin Mary - was built in XVI-XVII century. Funeral church frescoes of the Virgin Mary bearing the stylistic features of late medieval fresco in the XVI-XVII century and marked the end of the medieval Bulgarian monumental fresco.
Church St. Petka in the village of Dren was built in 1844.Beautiful frescoes in the temple for the work of famous Samokov School. The church is a monument of architecture and wall paintings from the Renaissance. Located 6 km from the village of DolnaDikanya.
