Goran is a village in northern Bulgaria. It is located in the Municipality Lovech, District Lovech.
It is 10 km north of Lovech, 35 km from Pleven, 90 km west of Veliko Tarnovo, 130 km east of Vratsa and 160 km east of the capital - Sofia.
The altitude of the village is 191 meters. The climate is temperate. The flat terrain and lack of trees and other obstructions determine the cold winters and snowdrifts. Summer is hot and muggy.
The population numbers about 371 inhabitants. Access to the village is done by asphalt road. There is regular bus service to Lovech. Local make a living in agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, apiculture.
On the territory of the village are operating a dairy farm and mill. The village has a town hall, church, community center, library. The nearest GP is located 6 km south of the village in the village Umarevtsi. The closest hospitals, schools, kindergartens, hotels are located in Lovech.
The fair of the village is held on October 27 - St. Petka.
Landmarks and tourism:
On both sides of the road Goran - Slatina in 9 mounds of early Bronze Age were discovered 34 graves from Yamna culture. This is the largest and most extensive necropolis of that era and among the explored today.
In Lovech you can visit the Covered Bridge Kolyu Ficheto square, Varosha - over 160 restored old houses, museum and art gallery building in the quarter "Varosha".
16 km west of the village Devetaki is situated the amazing Devetashka Cave.
