Village of Glogino

Glogino is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Banite Municipality, Smolyan region.
Situated 25 km north from the village of Banite, nearly 69 km northeast from the town of Smolyan, 53 km north from the town of Madan, 70 km northeast from ski resort Pamporovo and 236 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
There are bus connections with towns of Plovdiv, Madan, Smolyan and Kardzhali.
Located on the southeastern slope of Prespanski ridge in the valley of the river Gloginska at 1150 meters altitude.
The climate is characterized by moderately cool summer and moderately cold, sunny winter. Snow falls average 26 days in the year.
The permanent population is 100 people.
In the village there is a town hall, general store and rest house of BAS. There is Internet, cable TV and mobile phone coverage. GP, kindergarten and school are within the village of Banite. The nearest hospital is located in the town of Madan.
Northwest from the village is the highest peak in the Prespa ridge - Peak Prespa - 2000 m there open great opportunities for winter sports, rural tourism, geotourism, environmental and cycling trails.
Village of Banite / 25 km / is a resort of national and international significance. There are curative mineral springs, there is a built state houses for balneological treatments, also the old Bath (Roman Baths) with a reservoir, which dates from II century.
The village is an ideal starting point for almost all attractions in the Prodopes: Bachkovo Monastery / 62 km / Zlatograd / 76 km / Devil's Bridge - Ardino / 51 km / Wonderful Bridges / 85 sq.m / Momchilovtsi / 50 m / and others.
