General Kantardzhievo

General Kantardzhievo is a village in north-eastern Bulgaria, called the name of General Todor Kantardzhiev. It is located in Aksakovo Municipality, Varna District. By 1942 the name of the village is Chaus Kyoy. It is located 24 kilometers north-east of Varna. In recent years, in the land of the  village are constructed many holiday complexes.

Public institutions


The  residents are Orthodox Christians who identify as gagauzi. As the old generation speak Turkic (gagauzki) language. In recent years the village retain more young people move or as a permanent resident of the city and thus the number of speaking to gagauzki significantly reduced. Many foreigners (mostly British) have bought houses in the village, which used to rest and permanent living. Climate and the proximity of the village to the sea resorts makes it the preferred destination. In the municipality has a relatively high-functioning library.

Cultural and natural landmarks


Around the village General Kantardzhievo  there are many vineyards, which produce good wine. Kranevo is 3 km away  and 6 km of Albena. The view is incredible from the village to the resorts. There are many foreigners, rural tourism practitioners who visit the village. The holiday of the village (fair) is held on June 2 in a beautiful area Ayazmoto. For the holiday in each house is prepared roast lamb special furnace. Such furnaces have almost in every house, in addition to the traditional roast lamb, are prepared is traditional to the village banitsa submerged with  sour milk. In the area is well - developed infrastructure which helps for relaxation and conducting other activities.
