Filaretovo is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Kotel Municipality, Sliven region.

It is 19 km northwest from the town of Kotel, about 28 km southeast from the town of Omurtag, about 70 km northwest from the town of Sliven, 326 km northeast from Sofia.
There is regular bus transport.

It is situated in a mountainous area in the valley of river Ticha at 513 m altitude. The climate is temperate-continental with Mediterranean influence. Characterized by short winters and cool summers.

The village is one of the largest in the region with a population of 660 people. Here tobacco is grown, lots offruit plantations. Livestock is developed here.

Filaretovo has a good infrastructure, a post office, primary school, kindergarten, community center, shops and cafes. There is an Internet, cable TV and mobile phone coverage. In the village there is a GP.
The nearest hospital is located in the town of Kotel.

LANDMARKS IN THE REGION

In the town of Kotel, declared an architectural and historical reserve, tourists can enjoy the rich history and Renaissance architecture. Here are saved over 110 houses from the Renaissance.
Also you can visit the Pantheon of George Rakovski, Renaissance Museum, Natural History Museum and the Historical Museum, which are part of the Hundred national tourist sites.
Villages Zheravna and Medven are located respectively 34 km southwest and 32 km southeast - architectural reserve, keeping the look of the wooden houses built during the Revival period.
