Fakiya is a village in Southeast Bulgaria. It is located in Sredets municipality, Burgas region.
It is situated about 47 km southwest of the town of Burgas, 21 km southwest of the town of Sredets and 7 km southwest of the village of Momina tsarkva.
Fakiya is situated in Strandzha mountain, 17 km from the border with Turkey. The altitude varies between 100 and 199 m. Near the village passes Fakiiska river.
The permanent population is about 432 people. In the village there are water and electricity systems installed. The roads are well maintained. There is phone central, Internet, cable TV and all mobile operators have coverage.
In Fakiya are working church, kindergarten, school, community center, food stores and pub.
The village occurred very long time ago and is famous with its rich history. For it there are evidences such as remains from different historical eras.
In the village there is preserved the church "St Dimitar" that was constructed in 1891.
Fakiya is famous for its very interesting national clothes that are not the typical old Bulgarian style clothes. The dark blue color of the many embroidery and blue menswear and densely embroidered ornate sundresses and skirts in rich red and orange tones. Preserved many of the Bulgarian.
