Elenino is a village in South Bulgaria. It is located in Stara Zagora municipality, Stara Zagora region.
Situated around 8 km south from the town of Stara Zagora, around 49 km northeast from the town of Chirpan and 233 km southeast from the capital Sofia.
The village is located 2.5 km away from the fuel base of "Lukoil - Bulgaria" LLC and 4 km /through the Bypass road/ from Stara Zagora Airport.
Trakiya Highway passes close to the village, railway and bus transport connect it with the regional center and other large towns and villages.
The altitude is 170 m. The permanent population is around 670 inhabitants.
The climate is humid continental with significant Mediterranean influence, winter is mild and short and summer is hot and long.
The village has a town hall and a community center, a grocery store, a shop for automobile parts and services, an auto morgue and several companies for production of aluminium and wooded window frames, furniture and electrical panels. Elenino has water and electric supply. All mobile operators have coverage. One doctor is caring for the health of the inhabitants. The closest schools, kindergartens and health institutions are located in the town of Stara Zagora.
The industrial zone of the village of Elenino has an area of 206 acres and is 100 % municipal property. It is located southwest of Stara Zagora, close to the road for the village of Kaloyanovets who is renovated through Operation Programme "Regional Development". It is one of the 13th that won Phare funding for development of industrial zones.
A Mask festival in Elenino is held annually on 6th March - the typical local custom "Camilla" is played and a role play of the so called "Lent forgiveness" is made.
In the town of Stara Zagora, located only 8 km far from the village, the Roman Forum "Augusta Trayana", the Neolithic dwellings - the oldest in our lands, the Regional Historical Museum and a number of other historical and architectural monuments can be visited.
