Egalnitsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Kovachevtsi municipality, Pernik region.

It is 12 km south of the village of Kovachevtsi and 32 km southwest of the town of Pernik. Debeli lag village is 2 km south, Kaliste village is 5 km northeast. The capital Sofia is 60 km northeast. 

There is bus and railway transportation to the village. The water supply system and plumbing are under construction and will soon be changed.

It is located at the foot of Konyavska mountain and its altitude is 581 m.

The climate is characterized by cool summer and extremely cold winter. The spring comes late and the fall is much warmer than it. It is often foggy.

The permanent population is about 275 people. 

There are town hall, community center, post office, pub and shops working in the village. There also is football club. The nearest medical center and primary school are in the village of Kaliste, the nearest pharmacy and dentist are located in Kovachevtsi village, there is kindergarten in Lobosh village. Hospitals you can find in Pernik. 

 

Tourism and landmarks

''St. Simeon Stulbnik'' church in Egalnitsa is constructed in 1846 and is with unique architecture. 

Izvor and Pchelina dams which are located in proximity offer great opportunities for relaxation outdoors and fishing.

Other landmarks that you should visit and are in the surrounding area are the Zhablyanski monastery "St. Yoan Predtecha", the Radibosh monastery "St. Troitsa" and the Zemen monastery.

Duhlata cave is the longest cave in Bulgaria and is located about 28 km away from the village. It is suitable for tourism and is one of the favorite spots of the mountain climbers.
