Drenovets is a village in the municipality Ruzhintsi, Vidin region.
It is located 14 km northeast of Ruzhintsi, 45 km south of Vidin, 33 km northeast of the town of Belogradchik, 30 km west of Lom, about 155 km northwest of Sofia.
The village is situated in the Danube valley, the riverside of Lom. Its altitude is 108 meters. The climate is characterized by warm summers and relatively dry, while winters are cold and the snow about 50 days a year.
The population is about 1500 people.
In Drenovets there are a town hall, a school, a kindergarten and a church. Several stores a tavern and hotel are available. There is regular railway to neighboring towns. Medical care is covered by one doctor and two dentists. The nearest hospital is located in Vidin.

Near the village is located Drenovets dam, which is the largest in the area. Along with the Lom River and the Danube River, which passes about 10 km, offer very good conditions for fishing.
The Belogradchik Rocks are rock formations located about 30 km away in the town of Belogradchik. They are part of a hundred tourist sites.
Near Dimovo, about 25 kilometers northwest of Drenovets Izvorski monastery is located.
"Magura" cave is the largest cave in the country, which is 35 km away.
