Village of Drazhintsi

Drazhintsi is a village in northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Ruzhintsi, Vidin region.

It is situated 6 km northeast of village of Ruzhintsi, 62 km south of the town of Vidin, 27 km northeast of the town of Belogradchik, 40 km west of Lom city and about 161 km north-west of Sofia city.

Along Drazhintsi passes Lom river. Its altitude is 168 meters . The climate is characterized by warm and relatively dry summer and cold winter.

The village is situated in the middle reaches of Lom river. The river surrounds three sides of the village. At the fourth side of the village is "Brega" - not too high , but a beautyful hill.

Drazhintsi population numbers about 180 people.

The village has a town hall, health center, post office, three pubs, shops and church. Тhere is a park with fountain and bell tower in the centre of Drazhintsi. Because of the absence of children the school and the kindergarten have been destroyed. Operating school, kindergarten and medical care in the community center - Ruzhinci. The closest hospital is located in the town of Vidin.

Landmarks and Tourism: 


Lom River passes along the village, 7 km north of it is located Drenovets dam, which is suitable for swimming and fishing.  A well named Haidushko is located in the area of the dam.

There are two fountains which are interesting called Gorna and Dolna.

Near Drajintsi is situated an extremely beautiful area - Lukata.

The Belogradchik Rocks are rock formations located about 23 km away in the town of Belogradchik. They are part of a hundred tourist sites.

"Magura" cave is the largest cave in the country, which is 42 km away.
