Dolni Vit is a village in North Bulgaria. It is located in Gulyantsi municipality, Pleven region.
It is 9 km northeast of the town of Gulyantsi, 39 km north from the town of Pleven and 193 km northeast of the capital Sofia. The neighboring villages of Somovit and Milkovitsa are 4 km northeast and 4 km south.
It is situated in a hollow just to the right shores of Vit and Danube rivers. The altitude is 48 m. The climate is temperate with cold winter and hot summer while there is little precipitation.
Railway and bus transportation connect it to the other settlements. The village is one of the large in the municipality so it is well maintained. The main streets are asphalted and there is lighting, there are constructed water and electricity systems. All mobile operators have coverage.
The permanent population is about 515 people.
In the village of Dolni Vit are functioning town hall, chapel, community center, kindergarten, store and restaurant. The nearest school is in the village of Milkovitsa where there also work GP and dentist. High schools and hospital you will find on the territory of the town of Gulyantsi.
In the village there are stadium and football club. The people that enjoy fishing could take advantage of the conditions Vit river offers and also the place is great for picnic, sun bathing and walks.
The local cultural and archaeological heritage in the area is presented mainly by the archaeological reserve "Oescus" near Gigen village (28 km) which is declared cultural monument with national significance. It consists of remains from Roman and Byzantium cities.
