Dolni Boshnyak is a village in Northwestern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Vidin, District of Vidin.
It is situated in the valley of the River Topolovets. It is 23 km away from Vidin city, 12 km southwest of the village of Gradets and about 218 km north-west of Sofia city.
The average altitude is 102 meters. The climate is characterized by relatively cold winters and hot summers.
The village has electricity and water supply. The majority of the streets are paved. There are street lights, mobile coverage and bus transportation to the town of Vidin three times a week.
The population of Dolni Boshnyak numbers about 70 people, there are several English families .
The village has a town hall and a shop. The doctor who takes care of the population lives in the neighboring village of Gradets. Primary and secondary schools and medical care villagers can find in the town of Vidin.
Topolovets river is suitable for fishing
Near the village, about 3 km west are the ruins of Albotin rock monastery which was active in the 13-14 century, and in 1927 was declared a cultural monument.
In Vidin one can visit: The Castle Baba Vida, the Turkish konak /police office/ Koluka, turned into a museum, the mosque and library of Osman Pazvantoglu, the Ethnographic Museum Krustata kazarma, Stambol Kapiya and many other cultural and architectural monuments, which the city is famous for.
