Deventsi is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Cherven bryag municipality, Pleven region.
It is situated in the Danubian Plain and its altitude is 134 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by very cold winter and hot summer.
The permanent population is about 769 people.
Deventsi is well maintained village - the main streets are asphalted and with lighting. There are water and electricity systems. The mobile operators are with coverage. Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, kindergarten, bakery, stores and pub. One GP takes care for the health of the people in the village. The nearest hospital is in the town of Cherven bryag. Where there are also high schools.
The Orthodox church "St Nikolay Mirikliiski" and is finished in 1935 and was recently renovated.
In the are between Deventsi and the village of Telish (10 km east) is situated the protected area "Kaleto-Pipra" that encompasses area with diverse flora and fauna and remains of an ancient fortress. The area is rich of rock formations and caves.
Near Telish there are two large dams, one of them is suitable for fishing.
In the area of the village is found large natural gas field.
Iskar River also offers great opportunities for water tourism, fishing, sun bathing, diverse recreation activities in the nature. The river south of Cherven bryag still flows in a canyon, which although not as grand as the Iskar Gorge, is an attractive tourist sight.
