Debrene is a village in north-eastern Bulgaria, part of Dobrichka municipality, Dobrich region. It is located 28 km away from the city of Varna, 19 km away from Albena resort and 4 km away from Varna-Dobrich main road.
The population numbers to 90 people. Altitude - 310 m. The village is set in a hilly-flat area and is surrounded by forests. The climate is temperate-continental as the winter is cold and windy with plenty of snowfalls and the summer is sunny and cool.
In Debrene there is a a mayor's office, an Orthodox church, a grocery shop and a pub. The village is regularly supplied with water and electricity. The roads are in a good condition. Telephone, internet access, cable TV and coverage of all mobile operators are available.
The village is very clean and quiet it is situated in an area where no industrial pollution is present. The village is very easy to find - you cannot miss the wind-turbines by the road.
Debrene is a preferred destination by many foreigners for both holiday or year-round habitation. They appreciate it for its clear air, vast green fields and hills and the proximity to the regional city of Varna and the sea-coast.
A project has been developed for the construction of the second largest wind park in Bulgaria after the one in Kranevo. Three wind-turbines were mounted last year as the power they produce have already been added to the power system of the country.
