Village of Chereshovo

Chereshovo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality,  Smolyan region.

In Bulgaria there are two villages with the same name in Slivo pole Municipality,  Ruse region and Belitsa Municipality, Blagoevgrad region.

It is about 27 km southwest from the town of Smolyan, 22 km northwest from the town Rudozem, about 42 km south from the ski resort Pamporovo and 268 km east from the city of Sofia.

Chereshovo is located in the mountainous area at ​​935 m above sea level. The climate is characterized by cool, humid summer and long and warm autumn.

The population is only 10 inhabitants.

In a neighboring village Mogilitsa there is a kindergarten and elementary school. There can be received medical care. The nearest hospital is located in the town of Smolyan.

Tourism and landmarks

The most famous landmark in the vicinity are Agushevi konatsi in the village of Mogilitsa. Large feudal castle (Konak) built in 1834.

Near the village in the area "Sinite virove" is situated cave Uhlovitsa. It is one hundred tourist sites. It is about 460 meters, 330 of which are urbanized. At the end of the cave there is an icy white waterfall. In the cave you can find corallites.

In the village of Bukata about 4 km is situated the architectural ensemble "Hadzhiiski kashti" - Summer feudal castle - restored and converted into a hotel and restaurant. Here if tourists are willing themselves to knead bread and to test their skills in the processing of wool they can try.
