Village of Chamla

Chamla is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is about 85 km northwest from the town of Smolyan, about 78 km southwest from the ski resort Pamporovo, at about 35 km south from the town of Devin and 214 km southeast from Sofia.

Located in a mountainous area. Its altitude is 1,850 m. Climate is mountainous with the influence of the Mediterranean. It is characterized by mild winter, cool summer.

Residents of the village are 1-2 and are seasonal residents.

The closest school and health facilities are located in Devin.

 

Tourism and landmarks

Chairski lakes / 22 km / are a group of Rhodope mountain lakes that are unique in nature. There are found several endemics. They are overgrown and some may resemble swamps, but they are not. There are many built cottages and a hostel.

Just below the village of Mugla / 21 km / is located the area Mihrapa, once the sacred place for Muslims associated with many legends about the coexistence of different civilizations and mythical Orpheus.

In the area Malkata dzhinupa there are remains of the church "St. Elena", in the area Siratsite - from" St. Bogoroditsa" called Meyremnata (Maria Magdalena).
