Village of Tsatsarovtsi

Tsatsarovtsi is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Zlatograd Municipality, Smolyan region.

In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name in Dragoman Municipality, Sofia region.

It is 12 km southeast from the town of Madan, 14 km northwest from the town of Zlatograd, about 41 km southeast from the town of Smolyan and 278 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
The village is on the main road between the town of Zlatograd and town of Madan. There is regular bus transport to Zlatograd.

Located at 850 m altitude. The inhabitants are about 120 people, the main livelihood is farming.

The climate is temperate-continental with Mediterranean influence. Winter is mild, cool summer and autumn with heavy rains.

In the village there is a town hall and shop. Mobile operators have coverage. Nearest kindergarten, schools and health facilities are located in the town of Zlatograd.

Near Tsatsarovtsi village are situated mine "Gradishte" and "Gyudyurska". From "Ravno barde" area  at 950 m above sea level opens a magnificent view of the village Startsevo and the town of Zlatograd. In the area "Yurukovtsi" cereals are grown - there is also an authentic mill in which the people of the village grind flour and make their own homemade bread.

Tourism and sightseeing

Ethnographic Area Complex in Zlatograd is the biggest landmark of modern Zlatograd Municipality. It is the first and the only one in Bulgaria private ethnographic area complex.

In the town of Madan, you can visit:
- Cave-Museum "Sharenka". This is the first cave museum in Bulgaria.
- Area of ​​"Gabata" - rock massif with a small cave, where were found pieces of pottery from different periods. Following the path from the rock massif leads to the Thracian mines, where were found primitive tools for the extraction of ore and clay lamps.
- Nearby is the rock 'Rimpapa ", 50 meters high.
- Area "Kichikaya" a Proto-Bulgarian fortress. Old stone walls of buildings are preserved. The well, dug nine meters down into the rock are also preserved.
