Bukovo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Madan Municipality, Smolyan region.

In Bulgaria there are two villages with the same name in Parvomay Municipality, Plovdiv region and in Gotse Delchev Municipality, Blagoevgrad region.

It is 10 km northeast from the town Madan, about 40 km southeast from the town of Smolyan, 18 km northwest from the town of Nedelino and 270 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
There is bus service to neighboring cities.

Located in the Central Rhodopes, at 802 m altitude. The climate is continental. Winter is mild and long, cool summer.

The permanent population is 280 people.

There is a town hall, community center, primary school, kindergarten, shop and cafe in the village. There is also coverage of mobile operators, cable TV and Internet. The village has one general practitioner. The nearest hospital is located in the city of Madan.

Tourism and Sightseeing

In the town of Smolyan guests of the village can visit: the Historical Museum, Planetarium, Rhodope Drama Theatre, "St. Vissarion of Smolen", Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice, Observatory Rozhen.

In the town of Madan the following attractions: Cave Museum "Sharenka", area "Gabata" - small rock formation with a cave, rock "Rimpapa", area "Kichikaya" a Proto-Bulgarian fortress, later conquered by the Romans.
