Buhovtsi spreads out the eastern part of the Danube plain, at about 200 m above sea level. The relief is plain and hilly, and the climate - humid continental. Hot, dry summers and cold winters. Fisek Mountain rises above the village. Fisek Dam nests at its foot.

The village is well-developed. Electricity, water and telephone net are provided. There is a private water source - a dam. There is a town-hall, a community centre and shops. The former airport of town of Targovishte is located there. Its landing-strip is 2800 m long. Tourism

The mountainous land Fisek is located between the villages of Buhovtsi and Cherencha. It is an interesting mountainous massif with round shape, which is separated by the other mountain chain. There are four outlined peaks. The highest of them is 500 m. Fisek micro-dam is perfect for fishing (carassius, common roach, Danube bleak, perch, carp, silver carp, grass carp, etc).

Other interesting places to visit in the region are:

  • 'Krumovoto kale' (The Fortress of Krum) - it is located about 7 km away from town of Targovishte. Ancient ruins rise on more than 150 000 sq. m of land. The fortress was built in the times of Justinian I in the end of V century. It was part of the defensive system of Byzantium. There are suggestions the fortress was the famous town of Misionis.
  • 'The Park' land is a recreation zone south from town of Targovishte. There is a sanitary-tourist complex based on the healing qualities of the mineral spring in the area.
