Brestovitsa is a village in Southern Bulgaria, part of Rodopi Municipality, District of Plovdiv.

There is another settlement in Bulgariawith the same name, located in Borovo Municipality, District of Russe.

It stands about 15 km southwest from the town of Plovdiv and about 5 km north from the town of Perushtitsa.

The population of the village is about 3500 residents.

The relief is flat and hilly, with average altitude of 297 m.
The climate in the region is continental, characterized with soft winters and warm, dry summers.

The village infrastructure includes partly asphalted and lighted streets, full electrification, water supply system, partial sewerage system, mobile operators’ coverage, telephones, Internet, digital and cable TV.

About 10 km northwest is a secondary road, which make connection with European route E 80.

There are regular buses from and to the towns of Plovdiv and Perushtitsa.

There is a town house, post office, primary school, kindergarten and community center. There are several shops and restaurants.

There is health service for the residents.

 

Tourism and cultural attractions


The village of Brestovitsa is known for its viticulture and wine. The region boasts some of the finest wines in Bulgaria
There are several wineries where locally produced wines can be tasted. There also is a SPA hotel, where visitors can stay.
