Brestovets is a village in North Bulgaria. It is located in Pleven municipality, Pleven region.
It is situated in valley area and its altitude is 277 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized with hot and dry summer while the winter is cold. During June and February fall lots of precipitation. Hails are common phenomenon to the area.
The village is one of the largest in the municipality and is well maintained - there are constructed water and electricity systems. Regular bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
The permanent population is about 1033 people.
In Brestovets are working town hall, community center with library, kindergarten, stores and restaurants. For the health of the local people take care one dentist and one GP. The nearest hospital and schools are on the territory of the town of Pleven.
Natural landmarks that you can visit are Kapchuka cave (5 km) and Kaylaka park that is protected area and is with many alleys and walks, road, many places for relaxation, restaurants, pools and offers conditions for hunting.
Ideal destination for an excursion is the canyon of Chernelka river (8 km). There is constructed eco trail and the place is full of rear plant species, birds and animals that are enlisted in the Bulgaria Red Book for endangered species.
In the town of Pleven you can visit three of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria - Pleven Epopee 1877, the Regional History museum and the mausoleum-chapel "St George Pobedonosets". Other interesting places in proximity are Kaylaka park and the Wine Museum.
