Brestnitsa is a village in the municipality of Yablanica, Lovech region.
In Bulgaria there is another village bearing the same name - in Tervel municipality, Dobrich region.
It is situated 11 km northeast of Yablanica, 52 km southwest of Lovech, 30 km in the same direction from the city of Ugarchin and about 100 km northeast of Sofia. The road that connects Sofia and Varna passes through the village and in close proximity is the Hemus motorway.
It is set at an altitude of 284 meters climate characterized by warm summers and cold winters.
The population is about 1,000. There is regular bus service to the country.
Brestnitsa has good infrastructure - most streets are paved, there are electricity and water supply systems. Mobile operators have coverage. In the village there are town hall, primary school, a branch of kindergarten, church, shops and an ostrich farm. Medical care is covered by a general practitioner, and the nearest hospital in the city Lukovit / 23 km / h.
4 km from the village is Saeva hole - it is part of the 100 National Tourist Sites.
In Yablanica there are a History Museum which has a rich collection, it is located in the building of the library "Science." Central street also attracts the attention of visitors with its old houses from the late XIX and early XX century.
Only 31 km away from the village is located Glozhene monastery - founded in XIIIv. and is one of the most beautiful monasteries in the country.
