Brachkovtsi is a village situated in Elena Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.
The village is located 39 km south-east from town of Veliko Tarnovo, 6 km west from town of Elena, 26 km south from town of Zlataritsa, 36 km south-west from town of Gorna Oryahovitsa and 280 km east from city of Sofia.
Its population is approximately 450 people.
Brachkovtsi spreads out the banks of Yovkovtsi Dam, at the slopes of the Balkan Mountain, at 450 m above sea level.
The climate characterizes with warm summer and cold winter.
The village is with well-developed infrastructure. Electricity, water and mobile operator's coverage are provided. There are food shops, a tavern and a post office. Several small family guest houses offer excellent conditions of accommodation.
The nearest kindergarten, school and health care are in town of Elena.
Town of Elena managed to keep its Bulgarian Revival architecture. The tourists may visit the popular Clock Tower, the House of Popnikol, the House of Ilarioan Makariopolski, etc.
In close proximity are located the Plachkovski and Kapinovski monasteries.
Yovkovtsi Dam - it is with very good tourist infrastructure. Good conditions for fishing as well.
Several pedestrian routes start from town of Elena and village of Miikovtsi. They reach the Kapinovski monastery, Chumerna mountain top, Bukovets mountain hostel, etc.
Ski run is available in village of Chumerna - 35 km away from town of Elena.
Regular bus transportation goes to and from town of Elena. The town features daily bus transportation to the towns of Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Sliven, Sofia, etc.
