Bozhuritsa is village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Dolna Mitrpoliya municipality, Pleven region

It is 10 km northeast in the town of Dolna Mitropoliya and 17 km north of the town of Pleven. The neighboring villages of Pobeda and Podem are 6 km southwest and 6 km north. The capital Sofia is 171 km southwest. 

It is located on five hills on the two banks of Vit river that separates it to "Staro" or old and "Novo" or new villages. Its altitude is 127 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by hot summer and cold winter. In the summer there are often storms with high wind, pouring rain and hails. 

The permanent population is about 1099 people. 

Here are functioning town hall, community center with choir and library, primary school, kindergarten, stores and restaurants. One GP and one dentist have taken the care for the health of the local people. In the town of Dolna Mitropoliya there is medical center and high school, hospital you will find in the town of Pleven. 

Tourism and landmarks

In the center of the town of Bozhuritsa there is constructed monument in honor of the fallen in the Balkan war. Under construction is Orthodox church. 

The proximity to Vit river provides conditions for good time spend in the nature -fishing, picnic and walks. 

The local cultural and archaeological heritage in the area is presented mainly by the archaeological reserve "Oescus" near Gigen village (34 km) which is declared cultural monument with national significance. It consists of remains from Roman and Byzantium cities.

In the town of Dolna Mitropoliya are often organized supermoto fairs. There you can also visit the Museum of Aviation.
