Village of Bozhevtsi

Bozhevtsi is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Sliven Municipality, Sliven region.

It is about 30 km southeast from the town of Elena, 40 km southwest from the town of Kotel, 47 km northwest from the town of Sliven and 343 km northeast from the city of Sofia.
From Bozhevtsi there is a regular bus transport to the town of Sliven.

The village is located in a mountainous area at 663 m above sea level. The permanent population is about 250 people. Main occupation is farming.

The climate is temperate-continental. Characterized by long winter and cool summer.

In Bozhevtsi there is a town hall, post office, community center, church "St. Petka" and shop. Also cable TV ,Internet and coverage of all mobile operators is available. Nearest school and hospital are located in the town of Kotel.

Tourism and sightseeing

The village is situated in an area with rich history and many cultural and historical sights.

In the town of Kotel there is a Natural History Museum, which is among the largest in Bulgaria.
The historical museum has 3 exposures in the city and 5 exposures Zheravna and Medven.

Visitors of Bozhevtsi can visit in the town of Sliven following sites:
- Historical Museum, where there is a permanent exhibition of masterpieces of Bulgarian art during the Renaissance.
- Ethnographic Museum is housed in a XIX century building with lots of interesting architecture.
- House-museum of Hadzhi Dimitar - a complex of several buildings, restored in different periods.
- The historic elm, which is approximately 600 years growing up in the city center.
