Village of Bosilkovo

Bosilkovo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Banite Municipality, Smolyan region.
 
In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name in Sungurlare Municipality, Burgas region.
 
Situated 66 km northeast from the town of Smolyan, 22 km northwest  from the village of Banite, 56 km southeast from the town of Chepelare and in the same direction at 242 km from the city of Sofia.
Bus line connects it with the neighbouring towns.

Bosilkovo is located in a mountainous area at an altitude of 1000 meters. The climate is characterized by cool summer and moderately cold and sunny winter.
 
The permanent population is about 70 people. Local inhabitants are principally engaged in livestock, crop production and dairying.
 
The village has water and electricity. There is a town hall and general store. The nearest primary school, kindergarten, health center, church and mosque are located in the village of Davidkovo. Hospital you can find in the town of Smolyan.
 
LANDMARKS
 
In Bosilkovo there are found remnants of a temple - gold pans, utensils and a few crosses.

The area "Chukar" - natural protected area - low hill, which in the late Bronze Age (XV-XI century BC.) is transformed into Thracian sanctuary. Here are found the earliest archaeological sites in Banite municipality - clay idols of worship, small vessels and ceramic fragments.

Near the village Davidkovo / 7 km / there is a dam and a pond. There you can find carp and goldfish, carp, white trout and Moore.

Village of Banite is a resort center with national and international significance. There is a curative mineral spring, which is built to state the basis for balneological treatments and old Bath (Roman Baths) with a reservoir, which dates from II century.
