Bogutevo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Chepelare Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is 7 km north from the town of Chepelare, about 20 km north from the ski resort Pamporovo, 34 km north from the town of Smolyan, 47 km south from the town of Asenovgrad and 215 km northeast from the city of Sofia.
The village is one kilometer from the main road, there is regular bus transport to the towns of Smolyan and Chepelare.

It is situated in the Rhodope Mountains in the upper reaches of the Chepelare river, 1390 m altitude. The permanent population is about 200 people. The main livelihood is livestock for centuries, potato, woodworking.

The climate is temperate-continental with Mediterranean influence, characterized by heavy snowfalls in winter and mostly hot days in summer.

In Bogutevo there is a town hall, chapel "St. George", a mosque and community center. Five guest houses and two restaurants are available to guests of the village. The village has good communications - roads, telephones, mobile phone coverage. Nearest school and hospital are located in the town of Chepelare.

Working-bees, traditional Rhodope evenings, Rhodope music, barbecues out in the nature, riding horses and donkeys, fishing tourism, safaris are one of the many attractions that can be offered to tourists in the village. Each guest can touch the life of the village to engage in agricultural work in the production of agricultural products and preparing typical dishes of the region.

Surroundings and sights

In the town of Chepelare is situated the only one in Europe, Museum of Speleology, presenting the beauty of caves and cave exhibits, preserved since the dawn of human history.

Museum of skis and ski sports has a large museum collection and is located in the largest community center - "Rhodope spark". It keeps cups, medals, skiing and other sports accessories of the Chepelare ski racers from the emergence of sports company "Rozhen", which is 100-year history. The museum store and various ski models, factory production of Chepelare "Pamporovo ski."

Only 20 km from the village is situated Pamporovo - the most popular and biggest ski resort in Bulgaria. Located at 1650 m altitude, at the foot of peak "Snezhanka" (1926 m). Resort and ski slopes are surrounded by fir trees, which makes it extremely beautiful and attractive. Its wonderful hotels feature all modern amenities and great service.
