Baikalsko is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Radomir municipality, Pernik region

It is 23 km southwest of Radomir and 37 km in the same direction from the town of Pernik. The village of Izvor is 10 km northeast and the capital Sofia is 64 km away. 

It is situated in mountain area and its altitude is 834 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by mild winter and warm and dry summer. 

Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. 

The permanent population is about 62 people. 

In Baikalsko are functioning mayor's vice royalty and store. The nearest GP and school are in the village of Izvor. Specialized medical assistance you can get at Radomir where there also is a kindergarten. 
In the village is constructed monument of the people who died during the wars. 

Tourism and landmarks

The natural phenomenon "Choklyovo blato" next to the village is protected area. It is the largest peat-bog in Bulgaria. Here grow sphagnum (type of moss), Pedicularis palustris, rosemary willow etc.

On a small hill east of the marsh there are remains of ancient Thracian settlement.

In the area between the villages Baikalsko and Razhdavitsa in the Konyavska mountain is the canyon of Shegava river.  The steep and vertical slopes are sculpted in unique rock formations with height at some points more than a hundred meters - pyramids, pinnacles, vertical walls, needles.

Some people people think that the name of the village is derived from the Turkish word "baikal" that means sea and wild horse.
