Barchevo is a village in southern Bulgaria, Rudozem Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is approximately 4 km southwest from the town of Rudozem, about 30 km southwest from the town of Smolyan, 18 km southwest from the town of Madan, nearly 49 km southeast from the ski resort Pamporovo and 272 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
There is a regular bus to the village from the town of Rudozem.

It is located 906 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate. Characterized by mild and long winter, and cool summer.

The population is about 200 people.

In the village there is a town hall, community center and store. There is cable TV, Internet and mobile phone coverage.
Nearest hospital, school and kindergarten are located in the town of Rudozem.

Surroundings and sights

Medieval fortress "Koznik" - located on a cliff above the town of Rudozem. It can be reached by Eco path "Kechi Kaya" - "Koznik". The castle is part of the whole fortification system in the past served as a defense of the Rhodopes.
Ancient Temple Mount "Tsigansko gradishte". This historical landmark is reached by Eco path "Tsigansko Gradishte " - "Sadilishteto".

Sights in the town of Madan:
- Cave-Museum "Sharenka". This is the first cave museum in Bulgaria.
- Area "Gabata" - rock with a small cave in which were found pieces of pottery from different periods.
- Nearby is the rock "Rimpapa" - 50 meters high, resembling a man with a cape.
