Babovo is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is part of Slivo pole Municipality, Ruse Region.
Babovo is set on the riverside of the Danube. It is 32 km east from the centre of Ruse, 9 km in the same direction from town of Slivo pole, 87 km south-west from town of Silistra, 195 km north-west from town of Varna and 336 km north-east from city of Sofia.

The village spreads out the eastern part of the Danube plain, on 24 m above the sea level. It is located on a high plateau, about 2 km away of Danube River. The climate is humid continental with cold winter and dry, hot summer.
Babovo is with population of about 490 people. Electricity, water and communication equipment are provided.
There is a town-hall, a post office, a community centre with a library, an orthodox church and various commercial areas.
The nearest elementary school and health services are in the neighbouring village of Golyamo Vranovo (3 km).
The population is occupied mainly in the production-consumer co-operation which grows grains, fruit trees, industrial and fodder crops.

Place of interest in the alternative tourism sphere is 'Kalimok-Brashlen' protected territory. The rich variety of animals has been preserved during the years. There are 230 bird species, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, rear and protected animals registered in the Bulgarian Red Book.
Danube River is excellent place for river and fishing tourism. The beautiful Danube bank is pleasant for walks and sun-bathing.
