Asenovo is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is part of the municipality of Strazhitsa, Veliko Tarnovo region.
It is located about 8 km northeast from Strazhitsa city, 33 km from Dolna Oryahovitsa, 40 km from Gorna Oryahovitsa and 48 km from the town of Veliko Tarnovo. It is the most remote village in this direction.
The population of the village numbers about 753 people.
The village is situated in a small valley surrounded in west and north by steep hills.
The climate is temperate, moderate rainfall throughout the year. Temperatures can reach +32 ° C in summer and to -10 ° C in winter. Soils are suitable for growing all kinds of cereals, fruits and vegetables.
There is a primary school and a kindergarten in Asenovo. Medical services are not available. Residents can rely on GPs, dentists and different specialists in the nearest city- Strazhitsa.
Near the village goes Golyama river.
The village has a railway station. The epicenter of the earthquake in 1986 was here.
The church Sveti Dimitar- only the bell tower was damaged during the earthquake in 1986.
