Arda is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.

Village of Arda is in the western part of the Rhodope mountain, near the Greek border, 34 km southwest from the district town of Smolyan, 43 km southwest from the ski resort Pamporovo, 132 km south from the nearest airport in the city of Plovdiv and 280 km southeast from the capital city Sofia.

The village is situated at an altitude of 1046 meters. The climate is characterized by cool and wet summer, and autumn is long and warm.

The permanent population is about 313 inhabitants.

The village spreads along several neighborhoods. It is well developed - with paved streets and coverage of mobile operators. There is a community center, elementary school "St. Kiril and Metodi" and town hall. Nearest medical facilities are in the district town of Smolyan.
In Arda there is a church and a mosque. Bulgarian Christians and Muslims live in harmony.

In recent years, Arda successfully develops rural tourism

Available to tourists are few houses for accommodation, tourist information center, trained mountain guides and developed walking and cycling routes. There is an opportunity for horse riding, hunting and fishing.

There is an extreme trail built and it is called "Garden of Tarzan".

The "Roman Bridge" over the small river passes through the center of the village and is well preserved.

The village has a route leading to the springs of one of the biggest Bulgarian rivers - the eponymous Arda.

Village Arda is known as the birthplace of one of the most famous Bulgarian folk singers - Valya Balkanska.

Landmarks in the area:

Agushevi Konatsi / architectural and artistic monument of national importance / located in the village Mogilitsa / 5 km north of the village of Arda /.

Cave Uhlovitsa - between the Mogilitsa village and Koshnitsa village.

An advantage for lovers of winter sports is the close proximity of the slopes in the resort Pamporovo and town of Chepelare.
