Village of Alamovtsi

Alamovtsi is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Zlatograd Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is 11 km northwest from the town of Zlatograd, 66 km southeast from the town of Smolyan, 27 km southwest from the town of Nedelino, nearly 37 km south from the town of Madan and 328 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
Near the village is located the border checkpoint Zlatograd-Thermes. There is regular bus transport to nearby towns.

Alamovtsi is situated at an altitude of 806 meters. The climate is temperate-continental. Winter is mild and snowy, summer is cool and moist, and the autumn - long and warm.

The permanent population is about 400 inhabitants. The main livelihood is agriculture and livestock, here are grown potatoes and cereals.

In the village there is a town hall, primary school, community center, store and cafe. There is coverage of mobile operators, Internet and cable TV. Nearest kindergarten and medical facilities are located in the town of Zlatograd.

Tourism and Sightseeing

Dam Zlatograd / 14 km / is a wonderful place for recreation, sports and fishing.

History lovers can visit the Ethnographic Areal Complex in Zlatograd - outdoor museum showing how the city looked like over 100 years ago.

And in the town of Madan, you can see: Cave Museum "Sharenka", area "Gabata", rock "Rimpapa", area "Kichikaya".
