Town of Stamboliiski

Stamboliiski is a town in Central Bulgaria. It is located in municipality Stamboliiski, Plovdiv district.

The town is situated 21 km west direction from the town of Plovdiv and 21 km southeast direction from the town of Pazardzhik.

The population is about 12000 inhabitants.

The terrain is plain with average altitude of 200 m. The climate is transcontinental with warm and dry summer with temperatures of 23-24ºС and the winter is moist and moderately cold with temperatures of 1-2ºС.

The town of Stamboliiski has excellent infrastructure – transport, manufacturing and social. There is electricity, water and sewerage installations, internet and cable TV.

Asphalt road connects if with the towns of Plovdiv and Pazardzhik as well as with the smaller settlements. 7 km away north direction is Trakia highway, European roads 4 and 8. Main railway Sofia-Burgas goes through the town. There is a bus line that leaves from bus station “South” in the town of Plovdiv that connects it with the neighbor settlements.

The town has schools, kindergarten, nurseries and community center.

There is a specialized hospital.

Tourism

In closeness are the West parts of the Rodopi Mountain that is an excellent opportunity for mountain and cultural tourism.

Devin is surrounded by green rocky hills the west is saved from cold and stormy northwest and west winds. The region of Devin stands with favorable weather conditions - mild winters, cool summers and long number of sunny days. The air is fresh and pleasantly cool, humidity is normal.

Also not far are situated the town of Chepelare and Pamporovo Resort where you can find the perfect conditions for winter sports.
