Plachkovtsi is a town in municipality of Tryavna, Gabrovo region.
Plachkovtsi is located at the foot of Tryavna Mountain, on about 700 m altitude. The rivers Stoevski, Radevski and Neikovska pass through town, which merg and the found the Tryavna river.
The city's population numbers about 2000 people.
The city has very good infrastructure, good transport links, many shops, banks, restaurants, cafes. In Plachkovtsi operate a community center, elementary school, kindergarten and primary school for rehabilitation for cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. There is a furniture factory.
The town offers excellent opportunities for recreation. There are several family hotels and guest houses which can accommodate visitors of Plachkovtsi. Dryanovo is situated 25 km from Plachkovtsi. It is part of The hundred tourist sites.
The town has a railway station and bus station, which provide regular transport to Tryavna, Gabrovo, Ruse and the whole country. The international road E-85, which passes through the towns of Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, Svilengrad, connecting Northern and Southern Bulgaria, is situated about 20 km away from the town.
