Krichim is a town in Southern Bulgaria, Plovdiv Region. The town in administrative center and only settlement in municipality Krichim.
The population is about 8900 inhabitants.
The terrain is hilly plain with average altitude of 253 m.
The climate is transcontinental. The summer is warm and dry with average temperature of 24ºС and moist and moderately cold winter with temperatures around 1ºС.
The town has well-developed infrastructure. There are electricity, water and sewerage installations.
European road E80 is 15 km away and Trakya highway is 20 km northeastern direction.
In the industrial zone of Krichim there is a railway station.
There are church, administrative buildings, banks, post office as well as education buildings like elementary schools, secondary school and kindergartens.
Medical and dental offices serve the population.
Less then 5 km from the town is the Krichim monetary “Uspenie Bogorodichno” on the bank of Vacha River. During the Aprilsko uprising the monastery was destroyed but at the end of 19th century was restored.
In the territory of the municipality there is a reserve “Izgoryaloto giule”, ruins from the ancient castle “Krichim”.
In the area there are several dams – Krichim and Vacha and Batak is around 40 km away.
