Dve mogili is a town situated in the Central part of Northern Bulgaria. It is administrative centre of Dve mogili Municipality, Ruse region.

It is located 35 km south from town of Ruse, 70 km west from town of Razgrad, 21 km north-east from town of Byala and 55 km east from town of Svishtov.

Its population is approximately 4 400 people.

The town spreads out the eastern part of the Danube plain, at 242 m above sea level. It occupies the territory of a spacious levelled loess plateau characterizing mainly with plain relief and deep short gorges at some places. The climate is humid continental with hot summer and cold winter.

Infrastructure

Dve mogili comprises a municipal building, a police station, a post office, a church, a polyclinic, an emergency medical service, a secondary school and a professional agriculture high school.

There are telephone and radio nets and base stations of the mobile operators.

The town is set on both sides of the railway line Ruse-Gorna Oryahovitsa. The directions are Ruse-Gorna Oryahovitsa and Ruse-Sofia. The bus station connects the town with the neighbouring municipalities and the towns of Ruse, Byala and Popovo.

Economics

There are several companies working in the spheres of food industry, light industry, electrical engineering and transportation.

The various relief is beneficial for developing agriculture and stock-breeding.

Tourism

Tourists may visit the Monument and House-museum of Philip Totyo in the centre of the town. Philip Totyo was a Bulgarian revolutionary of the Bulgarian National Revival period and the leader of an armed band of volunteers. His grave is well-preserved and turned into a monument as well.

In the summer of 2009 the local open-air theatre was renovated and opened.

Traditional folk dance fair takes place every spring in the town. The participants come from different countries - Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Turkey, Serbia, etc.

Interesting natural landmark is Orlova Chuka cave which is the second largest cave in Bulgaria. It is located in the gorge of Cherni Lom River - 4 km away from the town.

Another place of interest is Natural Park 'Rusenski Lom' which is an attractive combination of caves, rock formations, historical monuments and zones of rich animal and plant variety.
