Batanovtsi is a town in western Bulgaria, part of the Pernik Municipality, Pernik Region.

It is 10 km southwestern direction from Pernik, 8 km northern direction of the town of Radomir and 35 km southwestern direction of Sofia.

The population is around 2300 people.

The terrain is low mountainous, with an average altitude of about 660 m.

The climate in the region is temperate and has mild and snowy winters with average temperatures about 1ºC and cool summers with average temperatures around 23ºC.

The town has built an excellent technical, transport and social infrastructure. Overall electrification, water main, sewerage installations, telephone, Internet, digital and cable TV.

Regular bus transport connects it with the administrative center - town of Pernik.

There is a railway station on the line Sofia - Kulata. Road E871 passes about 2 km away from the town.

There are primary school, kindergarten, community center and church. It has a network of shops and restaurants.

A general practitioner serves the needs of the population.

Tourism and cultural landmarks

Konska River passes through Batanovtsi and Bushlyak dam is about 1.5 km, which offer good conditions for hiking, walking and fishing. In closeness is situated the Batanovski Monastery “Voznesenie Gospodne”.

About 30 km away is the Duhlata cave, it is the longest and complex cave system in Bulgaria. A multi-storey labyrinth system of 6 floors. There is a great variety of cave formations.

The closeness to Vitosha Mountain is the perfect for winter sports, there are two ski centers - Aleko and Zlatnite Mostove. The beautiful nature and excellent conditions are suitable for tourism all year round and attract many visitors.
