Shuma is a village in Western Bulgaria. It is located in the Municipality Godech, District Sofia.
It is located 5 km southeast of the town Godech, 35 km west of Sofia, 23 km east of Kalotina / the border with Serbia.
The population numbers about 170 people.
Located in the foothills of the western Balkan Mountains at an altitude of 788 m.
The climate is temperate. Summers are warm and winters cool. There are negative values of the average January temperature of about - 2.5 C and average July temperatures of about 18.4 C.
The village is electrified, with maintained infrastructure.
There are water supply, electricity, communications networks. Missing sewers. There is coverage of all mobile operators.
Educational institutions and medical practices have in the municipal center - Godech and hospitals - in the regional center - Sofia.
The outskirts of the village is characterized by picturesque scenery and fresh air.Nearby there are several small monasteries and chapels, preserved their Orthodox identity over the years.
