Vassilevo is a village in North-East Bulgaria, part of General Toshevo municipality, Dobrich region. It is located 25 km north-west of Kavarna and the sea-coast, 16 km north-east of the municipal center of General Toshevo, 37 km east of Dobrich and 75 km north-east of Varna.
The relief is flat-hilly. The climate is temperate-continental and is characterized by a hot and dry summer, a colourful, warm spring, a cold winter with plenty of snowfalls and a cool and sunny spring. The population numbers to approximately 450 people. Altitude - 192 m.
The former name of the village used to be Kurt Doman (meaning "wolf's fog" in Turkish).
In the village there is a primary school, a community center with a rich library, a kindergarten, a pub, a stadium, a children's playground, a grocery shop, a mayoralty, a post office, a doctor's and a dentist's offices.
The roads are in an excellent condition. The village is supplied with water and electricity on a regular basis, as most of the central piping in the Vassilevo has been changed. Regular public transportation is available to the town of General Toshevo and the nearby villages. The local people may take advantage on all modern communications - internet access, satellite TV, coverage of all mobile operators.
The local football team successfully participates the A group regional championship.
Next to the village there is a picturesque forest surrounded by rocky hills. The area attracts with its specific charm and is a great place to have a picnic, go hiking or simply relax, enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.
A private agricultural co-operation provides occupation for the local people during the active agricultural season. In the village there is also a dressmaking and tailoring establishment which provides occupation for 65 people. The locals are also engaged in agriculture and bee-keeping. The area and the climate provide excellent conditions for cultivating wheat, sun-flower, rape-seed etc. Near the village there is a chicken farm where the local people may find occupation, as well.
Over 20 properties in the village have been purchased by foreign citizens. The interest to the properties in the village remains unchanged regardless economic changes occurring in both national and international scale.
On mayor's demand a project has been developed to transform the village park into a country club with modern playgrounds and a mini golf-course. According to the project the premises currently occupied by the grocery shop and the pub shall be transformed into a restaurant with a summer terrace, a garden and lots of attractions.
The main assets of the village are its excellent infrastructure, proximity to the sea, low levels of unemployment, beautiful and ecologically clean nature - excellent predispositions for the development of rural, eco and cognitive tourism.
