Ravnogor is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is in Bratsigovo Municipality, District of Pazardjik.
It stands about 16 km north of the town of Bratsigovo, about 45 km away in the same direction from the town of Pazardjik and about 155 km northeast of the capital of Sofia.
Bus transportation links the settlement with the towns of Bratsigovo and Peshtera, and from there to the bigger towns of Plovdiv and Pazardjik.
The village of Ravnogor is in a mountain region, at about 1340 m of altitude.
The climate is continental mountainous, characterized with late and cold spring, cool summers and long and snowy winters.
The village population is about 700 residents.
The infrastructure of Ravnogor is settled with partly asphalted streets and lighting, sewerage system, electric and water-supply systems, telephone lines, coverage of mobile operators and Internet.
There are functioning town house, church, post office, primary school, kindergarten, community center, shops, and restaurants.
Medical care for the village residents is provided by GP and dentist. The closest hospitals and schools are in the district town of Pazardjik.
In the village lived the warlike tribe "Bessie" who have left behind over 30 Thracian sanctuaries and tombs, one of which is the largest tomb in Bulgaria with a diameter of 5.30 m. It was studied by Professor Georgi Kitov in 1987 and here was found gold treasure which today is the National History Museum in Sofia. The mounds are located about 2 km from the village in a plain area. Many of them have not yet been studied.
In the existing protected areas around Ravnogor grows one of the 47 critically endangered species of plants with European and national nature-protective significance - Stoyanovo lyutiche / Ranunculus stojanovii /, included in the Red Book of Bulgaria and protected by the Biological Diversity Act.
Attraction for visitors and residents is a ski slope with lift located just before the village.
The close proximity of Bratsigovo is an opportunity for a number of monuments of culture and historical museums to be seen.
