The Krasno Selo quarter is one of the oldest in the capital.
It is situated in the southwest part of Sofia between the Tsar Boris III Blvd., Gotse Delchev Blvd. and Doyran Str.
The region is characteristic for its older, monolithic housing development after 1970 and the large-area shuttering blocks built after 1980. These buildings were primarily erected in the west part of the quarter near the Tsar Boris III Blvd. and the Krasno Selo market place.
There is new construction in the quarter and it has started in the last few years. It primarily consists of small blocks of flats around Knyaginya Klementina Str., Hubcha Str., Tsaritsa Eleonora Str. These blocks modernize and revive the region.
Apart from the new housing blocks, most preferred for living are the 6-storey brick blocks. They have centralized heating and extremely convenient distribution of the living area.
The quarter has a big kindergarten situated at Debar Str. near Doyran Str. Comprehensive High School No. 142 is on Pchela Str, and Comprehensive High School No. 36 Maxim Gorki is in the close vicinity - on 35 Pirinski Prohod Str.
There are many medical institutions in the Krasno Selo quarter. These are the private clinics Malinov at Gotse Delchev Blvd., medical centre Lora at Vorino Str., and medical centre Saint Toma at the crossing of Gotse Delchev Blvd. and Tsar Boris III Blvd. At the west part of the same crossing one could find the second biggest market place in Sofia - Krasno Selo. There are also many stores, cafes and restaurants in the quarter.
There is a well-developed infrastructure which includes busses, trolleys and trams: trams - 5 and 19, trolleys - 2 and 9 and busses - 63, 65, 73, 83, 102, 202, 204, 260.
